The Graphics & Extended Reality Team (GERT) is a research team working on interactive computer graphics and animation, visual computing, and immersive reality (VR/AR/XR) at Brunel University London. The team does theoretical research, algorithm development, and applied research. GERT is working on applications that include interactive physics, fluid dynamics, digital human shape simulation, human motion and appearance capturing. Moreover, GERT studies immersive technologies and their applications in the areas of computing, social neuroscience, psychology, training, and therapy.

Our work The Impact of Collaborative Learning Virtual Environments on Student's Performance has been accepted at the IEEE MetroXRAINE 2024.
We ran the Microtopia CS Summer School, which is dedicated to girls and funded by the CS department at Brunel University London. We welcomed 90 girls, where the pupils formed nations to develop sustainable industries using technologies and collaborated on coding projects.
Dr Nadine Aburumman has been invited to participate in the panel discussion on user-centred attention in XR at the XR and Attention Symposium , which is organised by King's College London.
Our work Grasping Objects in Immersive Virtual Reality Environments: Challenges and Current Techniques has been accepted at the 10th International Conference on Virtual Reality 2024.
